Between November and April is the best time to visit the Maldives. The climate is warm and tropical, with typical highs ranging from 29°C to 31°C all year and lows rarely falling below 24°C.

The months of January through April are the driest, with minimal rain and low humidity, making this the peak season for resorts. Temperatures remain mild from May through December, although rain is more common and possible storms. Even during this time, there are generally long periods of bright sunshine. Attractive prices and offers indicate that now is still a popular time to visit.

November - February

November to February is a perfect season to visit the Maldives, with picture-perfect weather and beautiful blue skies. Visitors may expect little rain, low humidity, and plenty of tropical sunshine, making it excellent for snorkeling, sunbathing, and relaxing on the beach. However, December to February is also the most active in the Maldives. As a result, flight and hotel prices are at their peak, particularly around the Christmas and New Year holidays. The Maldives are at their busiest at this time, each resort is on its island, so you won't have to cope with the massive crowds that other vacation spots face during peak season.

April - March

March through April, often considered the Maldives' shoulder season, is a fantastic time to visit. This time of year delivers even more beautiful weather, with April being the hottest. Temperatures range from 28°C to 29°C, with little rainfall on average. The surf season in the Maldives begins in March and lasts until October. Winter low-pressure systems in the southern Indian Ocean bring heavy waves averaging 4-5 feet, with some reaching 8-10 feet.

May - October

The monsoon season in the Maldives lasts from May until October. Heavy rain, strong gusts, and dangerous seas can be expected at this time of year. However, the monsoon season, which begins in June, does result in lower pricing for flights and lodging. Scuba diving is also excellent, as the marine life on the western atolls is more diversified. However, we believe it is worthwhile to pay a little extra and travel during the dry season. During the monsoon season, there isn't much to do besides drink, sleep, or scuba dive. However, that doesn't seem too horrible.
